Arrangements for organ and harmonium

Volume III/1, published by Carus-Verlag, is now available.

Volume 1 of the section containing arrangements of works by other composers mainly includes works by Johann Sebastian Bach, arranged for organ. In addition to preludes and fugues from the Wohltemperierten Klavier, several toccatas, and the Chromatischen Fantasie und Fuge, the arrangement of the two-part inventions into a Schule des Triospiels is particularly noteworthy. Reger also made significant changes to Franz Liszt’s Der heilige Franz von Paula auf den Wogen schreitend. The opposite is true of the Ausgewählte Stücke klassischer und moderner Meister für Harmonium, where he largely limited himself to pleasing sections for domestic musical purposes in works by Frédéric Chopin, among others.
